Dear NEWS 19,
My name is Gurparkash Singh, and I am a part of the Communications Team for Battle of the Buffalo. As you may know, my fraternity Alpha Tau Omega created an event called Battle of the Buffalo to raise money for HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology and Russel Hill Cancer Foundation, for the purpose of cancer research and treatment. Battle of the Buffalo is a chicken wing festival that takes place in Big Spring Park every year in April. The event started after the loss of a member to acute myeloid leukemia in 2007. Since its inception, the event has raised over $400,000, served thousands of individuals in the community, and taken place fifteen times. On April 12, 2025, we will hold our sixteenth year of Battle of the Buffalo. Last year alone we raised over $136,000, had over 10,000 people in attendance, and served over 10,000 pounds of chicken wings.
Thank you for your continuous support of Battle of the Buffalo from this past year. We are currently seeking in-kind sponsorship partners for this year. We believe that a sponsorship with NEWS 19 would benefit our cause and provide you with continued positive and valuable exposure to our community. I have attached a sponsorship packet below that outlines some of the sponsorship opportunities. Should you be willing to sponsor, the media sponsorship details could be provided between now and March 2025, as we understand that many businesses begin to set their budgets around this time of the year.
